What are Headaches?
Childhood headaches are quite common and are one of the complaints that negatively affect our children's social and academic lives. The frequency of headaches increases as children get older. In addition to headaches such as migraines, tension-type headaches, and cluster headaches where no underlying organic cause can be identified, patients may also present with headache complaints due to reasons such as brain tumors and hydrocephalus (fluid accumulation in the brain). A detailed neurological examination and, when deemed necessary, brain magnetic resonance imaging or tomography may be performed to identify the underlying cause.
